Before the time of "casual dining" you found yourself with choices of fine dining or a drive-up burger joint. Julio’s Restaurant was a casual restaurant before that term even existed. Walk into Julio’s and you may find a table of suits sitting next to a band that just woke up from last night’s gig; a group of spring breakers sitting next to your state senator; or a family of four sitting next to a guy about to propose to his girlfriend. And Tex-Mex? Who had ever heard of that? Mexican flavor combined with big Texas taste – sounds crazy!
Julio’s staff are not told to go out and follow a script. They do not wear 17 pieces of flair and they certainly don’t pretend to be happy you are there- they really are. They are themselves because they are pretty darn original also. You may find a bartender sitting down and talking about Tequila with a table of women holding a baby shower, or a server walking a toddler back up front to see the J DOE from the zoo standing in the front foyer.
Because... Originality isn’t a word, it’s a continual existence, and Julio’s doesn’t plan on stopping its quest to be an Omaha original.
Yes it is. Originality noun a : the quality or state of being original b : freshness of aspect, design, or style c: the power of independent thought or constructive imagination – d: Julio’s Restaurant
